Junior and Senior Reading List

Required Books for 2008-2009

These books are required for high school English. Books may be purchased as needed and student does not have to purchase all of them at the beginning of class.

Students in grades nine through twelve must read at least five books or 1000 pages of choice from the grade-appropriate reading list and take suitable notes on each in preparation for both class discussion and written analyses. During the first week of school, students will be asked to complete a writing assignment on one of the books selected by the teacher. Students may choose to read up to two additional books for extra credit: one book will add one point to the student's semester average. Two books will add one point ot the student's semester average for both semesters. (Students: Remember that you cannot receive credit for books previously read.)
